The Bird Park
Font Size

What is it?
A giant aviary located by the Iguazu National Park and considered the largest bird park in Latin America.

What is there to do?
Go into huge bird enclosures and follow up close the lives of over 900 birds from 150 species, many of them threatened by extinction. The great amount of animals integrated to the Iguazu National Park inevitably provides a rare show of chirping and colors. On the trail visitors walk to see the birds, they are greeted by blue macaws, parrots and toucans that play freely. At each enclosure there are signs containing the species' scientific names and areas of origin. All animals displayed come from zoos, breeders authorized by Ibama, or rehabilitation centers. However, visitation is not the owners' only concern. They do research in an effort to intensify captive reproduction.
