What is it?
A place where Itaipu preserves the wealth of animal life found on the Paraguayan side of the Paraná River.

What is there to do?
Appreciate the animal wealth and diversity on the Paraguayan side surrounding Itaipu. The Itaipu Local Zoo houses native species in a 12 hectare area containing proper enclosures where animals can lead their lives according to their natural habits. Researchers work in the captive reproduction of species threatened by extinction, such as jaguars. Visitors can travel the facilities and also take part in environmental education activities.

When?
Tuesdays to Saturdays from 8am to 11:30 am and from 2:30pm to 5pm; Sundays from 8am to 11:30am. On Mondays is closed for maintenance.

Road connecting Ciudad Presidente Franco to Saltos del Guairá, 11.5 km from Ciudad del Este – Hernandarias (Paraguay).
