Fight against Sexual Exploitation of Children and Teenagers Network
Font Size

Research by the Child and Teenager Reference, Studies and Actions Center (Cecria) supported by the Organization of American States (OAS) indicates that in Brazil there are 241 traffic routes for sexual purposes, and the existence of a connection of that practice to organized crime and international networks.

The area of the triple border between Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay is one of those routes. In face of that, Itaipu has joined the Fight against Sexual Exploitation of Children and Teenagers Network.

The Fight against Sexual Exploitation of Children and Teenagers Network promotes awareness campaigns and trains people working in tourism, education and health. Over 12 thousand children have been advised on the issue.

Itaipu joined the program in 2003.
